Aizuwakamatsu is a city in the Aizu region of Fukushima Prefecture , Japan. It is a medium-sized industrial city and located in the northeast of Japan. As of May 2011, the city has an estimated population of 125,341 and a population density of 330 persons per km². The total area is 383.03 km².

The industry in Aizuwakamatsu is dominated by electronics and precision instrument, and light industry machinery, food industry, and medical instruments. There are over 500 enterprises and other economic entities, many famous Japanese brands like Fujitsu, Sanyo, Mitsubishi, Honda, and Olympus have set up subsidiaries in Aizuwakamatsu. The major products are camera, clocks and watches, protectives, integrated circuit block, precise instrument, household appliances and plastic parts. The traditional lacquer ware industry and brewing industry are also on top in Japan.

Aizuwakamatsu's climate resembles that of the Hokuriku region on the Sea of Japan coast, the average maximum temperature is 30.2 degree and minimum temperature is 4.5 degree below zero, and the average annual rainfall is 1342.9 millimeter.

The agriculture and forestry is well developed in Aizuwakamatsu, with distinctive agriculture technology and improved varieties, while the agriculture is abound in rice, peach, grape and persimmon, and the forestry is famous for firs, pines and plane trees. Aizuwakamatsu is a very old city, the existing Tsuruga Castle has a long history of 615 years. Aizuwakamatsu is one of the most developed tourism area in Japan.
